September 29 2010:
My Fellow Kentucky Association of State Employees (K.A.S.E.) Members,
You are urgently needed in person or via the telephone on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 9:00 am est. for an open officer meeting or 9:55 am est. for a general information meeting at your K.A.S.E. office headquarters in Frankfort at 207 Holmes Street, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601 phone: 502-875-2273 or toll free 800-248-5273 or visit the website at KASEKY.ORG. The meeting will adjourn by 11:45 am est.
I need for you to “Come home to Holmes Street, Come home to K.A.S.E”. It is vitally important to attend this meeting. We are sadly saying goodbye to Lee Jackson who has led this organization for many years. Changes are being made, awards are being given, plans are being made and we need your help to propel us in the right direction. We are going to go over the current working BUDGET, new changes to the website along with the logo, the current membership levels and what can be done to recruit more members. In order to thrive and to be successfully able to take the fight to those who deserve it we MUST HAVE MORE MEMBERS. We will discuss the newly passed Constitution and Bylaws along with YOUR ideas about what you want to see done and how we can go about doing it with YOURS and OUR HELP. Bring your family, friends, neighbors, and fellow state employees to show them that K.A.S.E. is getting back to what it was founded on, which is fighting and advocating for the rights of all public employees and retirees.
Let me take a moment to introduce myself and your newly elected officers. My name is David Smith and I am the newly elected President of K.A.S.E. Your newly elected Vice Presidents are Jan Williamson, Julia Johnson, Gary Marshall, Markus Bennett, Brain Kiser, and Leonard Cieslak. Your newly elected officer’s and I want to give you an opportunity to meet us in person and, if not in person, then on the phone. All of your officers are Commonwealth of Kentucky merit employees who are dedicated volunteers that are tired of seeing promises being made and not kept, your paycheck being cut, and your benefits being cut while your costs keep rising. We realize that times are tough and WE NEED TO STAND TOGETHER to send a clear message to the policy makers and “Bosses” in Frankfort and throughout the Commonwealth that it is time to pick on someone else. We are public employees and we are the backbone of government work. WE WILL FIGHT, WE WILL WIN, WE ARE K.A.S.E.
We are looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. Please feel free to contact me any time.
David Smith,
K.A.S.E. President
Ubi concordia, ibi victoria - Where there is unity, there is victory.
